Canadian Gearhead needs help! We have multiple positions available for freelancers who want to get involved with the brand:
Content Manager
This person will oversee a group of content writers. They’ll be responsible for creating article briefs that include an explanation and the overall goal of an article. They’ll also be in charge of coming up with the subheadings in the article – this requires researching questions the reader might have when searching for info on the topic. Coming up with an attention-grabbing title will also be part of their job.
The Content Manager will communicate directly with the writers in order to send article topics out to them and guide them on how to approach them. This position will only be offered as a promotion to Canadian Gearhead writers.
Content Editor
The Content Editor will be in charge of making sure an article is ready to be published. They’ll check for any spelling/grammar mistakes, add images, affiliate links, embed videos, and internally link to other articles.
This position will only be offered as a promotion to Canadian Gearhead writers.
Graphic Designer
This person will primarily be designing Youtube thumbnails so experience with that is a must. They might also be asked to design images or infographics for articles.
Video Editor
This position is available to anyone with specific experience in editing Youtube videos. They must have an understanding of the Canadian Gearhead brand image and video editing style. You can use the editing software of your choice but music has to be sourced from Epidemic Sounds.
The Content Manager and Editor positions are only available as promotions to Writers for Canadian Gearhead. For other positions, please submit samples of your work to [email protected]. Terms and pay are negotiable.
Content Writer
Do you own a Toyota truck and love to talk about it? We’re looking for passionate gearheads to write articles for the site. If you’d like to get paid to talk about cars and earn a little extra for your own car parts and products, then this is a great opportunity.
Currently, we’re looking for writers with ownership experience of any of the popular Toyota truck models:
- 4runner
- Tacoma
- FJ Cruiser
- Land Cruiser
- Tundra
- Sequoia
- Lexus GX
- Lexus LX
If you own any generation of these vehicles (or know them well) please submit an application! You must have access to the vehicle because original photos will be required for articles.
PAYMENT. Pay will start at $0.04 USD per word, with the potential to increase if you demonstrate the ability to produce high quality content. Articles tend to be between 1,000 and 2,500 words in length. Article lengths are assigned based on the topic, so you’ll know up-front how much you’ll be paid for your efforts.
TOPICS. There is a broad range of topics to write about including maintenance, modifications, and general info about cars/trucks. The title and subheadings will all be laid out for you.
CREDIT. Articles will be ghost written for an initial 3 month period. If you become a regular writer, your name will be listed as the author and you’ll have a bio included on the Meet The Writers page. The article will be written in a document and sent directly to me for editing and approval. You will not be posting directly to the site.
SCHEDULE. Ideally, 2-5 articles per month would be great for a regular writer. You’re free to write as much or as little as you want, as long as you understand that articles may be passed on to another writer if you’re unavailable.
OWNERSHIP. You understand and agree that all photos, videos, written content, and all other media submitted to Canadiangearhead.com become the exclusive property of Tim Rempel and you do not have the right to republish that content on your own site. Plagiarism and the use of artificial intelligence will not be tolerated and if detected, your payment will be canceled. Your article needs to consist of original content.
LEGAL. This opportunity is available for writers around the world. This is a freelance writing gig and you will be an independent contractor. Canadiangearhead and Canadiangearhead.com are owned, operated, and published by Tim Rempel.
